The complex of San Michele, consisting of a small church with an adjoining house for the caretaker and a refuge for travellers, stood a few kilometers east of Moschiano on the road to Santa Cristina, Forino and Avellino. It is known to have existed since the 1400s and perhaps earlier. Most likely it was the place where Sister Angiola della Pace retired. It was destroyed by the 1980 earthquake and some of its finds (including the eighteenth-century statue of the Saint) were transferred to the Incoronata church. Many of these finds (including some floor tiles) have now been lost. For more information see San Micheal
