In the autumn of 1971, in my opinion perhaps also to keep the young people of Moschiano busy with something, our parish priests and some entrepreneurs of Moschiano led by Sabato Pacia created and subsidized a football team involved in the Youth League Championship: Moschiano A.C.  I remember that I with Michele Corcione (?) were the goalkeepers. Since I was in the Seminary at the time, Don Peppino would pick me up on Sunday morning and with some excuse he would take me out to play. During the week i was training on my own. We had an iron defense with Salvatore Vona, Franco Fiore and Edoardo Vona as well as Mast'Aniello. In midfield a tough guy like Antonio Mazzocca (Tatonno) and Mario Buonaiuto  and then the various Vincenzo Terracciano (Vicenzino), Aurelio Mazzocca,  Angelo Pacia in attack. I don't remember how we ranked at the end of the championship. We certainly had fun and made Moschiano have a lot of fun. Now that there was a road that led to the Sanctuary, unlimited scenarios and new horizons opened up for the Sanctuary. The problem was the funds. The people of Moschiano and other devotees of the Madonna had always been very generous, but a lot of money was needed to achieve what the parish priests had in mind. Then Don Salvatore had a brilliant idea. He thought of making a trip to the United States and Venezuela (at that time in the prime of prosperity) and collecting offers among our emigrants to restore the Sanctuary and start other works that he had in mind, first of all a hall on the side left of the Church (where there were the ruins of a house attached to the Church) to welcome the pilgrims who were now expected in large numbers. No sooner said than done. The response from our fellow villagers abroad was more than enthusiastic. They competed to welcome Don Salvatore into their homes and to contribute to the restoration of the Sanctuary and the hall. It was in that year that Don Salvatore asked Prof Pasquale Moschiano to write a little book to tell the story of Moschiano and the Sanctuary. Prof Moschiano, for his part, left us the beautiful "The Sanctuary of the Madonna della Carita" which everyone still preserves and cites today.

The construction of the hall began, albeit a little slowly. The architect who designed the project wanted to recall the arches of the bell tower on the right side of the Sanctuary. The foundations were laid, the so-called "rough" was made, iron attachments were left for a possible second plan, but for now nothing more could be done. See photo of laying of the first stone)

We young people, now 16-17 years old, began to get busy and in the wake of the many musical groups that were born in those years, the group Gli Angeli della Strada was created (“The Street's Angels” as Salvatore Aschettino liked to call them.)   with Salvatore Vona singing, Pasquale Pacia on drums, Gianni Cuozzo on piano, Salvatore Aschettino on guitar and Aniello Mazzocca on bass. Mario Vona acted as "manager". Of course they weren't The "Beatles", but for Moschiano it was enough. At least you could have parties with "live" music.

In 1972 we sang "Il mio canto libero" with Lucio Battisti and towards the end of that year we were all there singing "Cosa piccolo grande amore" with Baglioni.
