Traditions are commonly defined as the transmission of stories, testimonies, events, habits, customs and the like made from generation to generation in oral, written or figurative form.

They are so important that in the Catholic tradition, but not only, they play a fundamental role and constitute, together with the Word of the Bible and the Magisterium of the Church, one of its fundamental bases.

For our villages founded on a primarily agricultural skills they have represented the main form of culture for centuries and have been used almost like history books.

The Pro Loco Michele Caputo, aware of the great cultural, historical and social value that they represent, intends not only to keep their memory alive but to consolidate them so that their above all educational value is not lacking.

Throughout the year there are countless occasions linked to ancient traditions, often of a religious nature but not only, some of which are no longer observed and live only in the memories of fewer and fewer people.

Below we want to at least mention them in the hope that we don't lose our memory. We will be grateful to those who wish to contribute in any way with a more detailed description, correct some of our errors or inaccuracies or provide photographic material.

The Pro Loco will continue in its small way to make them continue or at least to make them relive in memory as much as possible.

Given its length we have divided it in chronological order over the year and into several parts.
